One of the most popular amusements is back this year – Dunk the Readings! Local leaders have stepped up to take their turns sitting in a dunk tank for a good cause. Local students may want to take note, as they’ll see some familiar faces in the dunk tank this year.
School Superintendent Dr. Thomas Milaschewski will be spending some time in the dunk tank again. So will Reading Memorial High School Interim Principal Jessica Callanan and Parker Middle School Principal Rochelle Rubino. Filling out School representation in the dunk tank will be Tom Wise, a member of the School Committee.
And it isn’t just school leadership you can dunk. Town Manager Fidel Maltez will be spending some time in the dunk tank. So will three members of the Select Board: Mark Dockser, Chris Haley, and Jackie McCarthy.
Dunk the Readings will be located on the corner of Haven and Gould Streets during the Faire. $2 buys one chance to dunk someone, and $5 buys three tries. For a $20 donation, you can enjoy an automatic dunk and see a local leader get dropped into some pretty cold water. Proceeds from Dunk the Readings will benefit the reading Rotary Club/Fall Street Faire and 2020 RMHS graduate Autumn Hendrickson, whose researching and writing a book about the men and women from Reading and North Reading that served in World War II.
